# Your Profile

> Saved threads, bookmarks, public profile, and everything else tied to your account

Your profile is your personal workspace inside Model Diplomat. It's where your work lives — every Atlas thread, every saved story, every course you've taken, every badge you've earned.

## What lives on your profile

### Saved threads (chats)

Every Atlas thread is saved automatically. "Thread" and "chat" mean the same thing here — your conversation history with Atlas. From your profile you can:

* Revisit any past thread and continue it
* Rename threads for easier searching
* Delete threads you no longer need
* Share threads via public link

### Bookmarks

You can bookmark anything interesting from anywhere on the platform:

* Stories from [Discover](/discover/overview)
* Briefings you've received
* Specific threads or messages
* Courses you want to come back to

Bookmarks live in one place on your profile so you always have quick access.

### Courses and progress

Every course you've started, completed, or bookmarked shows up here, along with your XP, level, streak, and earned badges.

## Public profile

Every account has a **public profile** at `/profile/[username]` — but it's **inactive by default**. You have to manually activate it from your account settings before anyone else can see it.

When active, your public profile can display:

* Your display name, avatar, and bio
* Your MUN conference history (add any conferences you've attended)
* Courses you've completed and certificates earned
* Badges and level
* Shared research threads you've marked public
* Country specializations (auto-populated from your Atlas research)

A public profile is a way to show the world what you're working on and what you stand for — useful for college applications, professional networking, or just being part of the community.

## Leaderboard

Active public profiles appear on the global **[leaderboard](/community/leaderboard)**, ranked by MUN conferences attended. Claim a username, activate your profile, and add your MUN history to show up.

## Username and activation

To activate your public profile and appear on the leaderboard, you need to claim a username:

1. Go to **Account Settings → Profile**
2. Claim a username (lowercase, alphanumeric + hyphens, 3–30 characters, globally unique)
3. Toggle **Make profile public**
4. Add your MUN history, bio, and anything else you want to display

You can deactivate your profile at any time — it immediately returns to private (404 on public access), but your data is preserved.
